The Roofing & Siding Products Road Sales Representative is responsible for cultivating and managing customer relationships by actively prospecting in their territory and acting as a liaison between our customers and our sales and operation teams. The Roofing & Siding Products Road Sales Representative, as an expert in residential roofing products is also responsible for supporting the Generalists Sales Teams with technical questions or concerns regarding residential and commercial roofing products.

  1. Assist in the development of goals and objectives for Roofing and Siding Sales Team
  2. Prioritize and distribute customer requests amongst Inside Sales Team members
  3. Ensure a timely response is made to all customer requests either directly or through another team member
  4. Play an active role in budget and other sales goal planning
  5. Maintain existing customer relationships and actively prospect
  6. Manage work generated in the field:
    1. Give and/or coordinate product and service demonstrations
    2. Preform and/or coordinate jobsite measures
    3. Perform inspections on possible service items
    4. Meet with customers to review and verify documentation prior to ordering
    5. Actively prospect new accounts and/or project in assigned geographic region
    6. Participate and play an active role in Building Material Industry and Community events
  7. Actively work with Sales Teams to develop roofing customers and grow wallet share
  8. Play a key development role for internal and external customers on core product. Composite Shingles, Wood Roof Shingles, Wood Sidewall Shingles, Wood and Other Clapboard products, and Velux Skylights.
  9. Attend all training sessions offered internally
  10. Continuously develop your knowledge of Building Materials and the Construction Industry as a whole in order to better support the needs of our customers
  11. Perform and necessary assignment requested by supervisor

Monday-Friday: 7 a.m. – 5 p.m., some Saturdays 8 a.m. - noon

Work will predominately take place in the field at either active jobsites or customer offices. On active jobsites, it is the responsibility of the employee to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to protect against applicable physical hazards. A good deal of time will also be spent driving to and from customer meetings and the office. On occasion this job operates in a professional office environment and will routinely use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

  • 5+ years’ previous experience in sales (Residential Roofing and siding Sales Preferred)
  • Solid knowledge of residential roofing products and their application
  • Experience in material take-offs and estimating
  • Strong work ethic and ability to lead by example
  • Solid organizational skills and high attention to detail
  • Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Must be friendly, outgoing and possess the ability to effectively communicate with others
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including holidays
  • Must be able to drive a vehicle in the State of Massachusetts
  • Organization and time management; communication proficiency; teamwork; technical capacity

Minimum: high school diploma or equivalent
