Andersen offers multiple series of windows and high-performance glass options which make it possible to meet both the architectural as well as energy requirements. The Andersen A-series is a fiberglass exterior which is weather resistant and durable. The E-series offers an aluminum exterior which allows us to add any color to your home. You can use one of the 50 standard colors or create your own custom color. Last but certainly not least, 400 series is the most time tested and durable of all of the Andersen products.
As our climate is one of the most challenging as we experience both heating and cooling we need to be aware of the glass we choose and how it impacts our energy efficiency. Most people can enjoy optimal energy performance and comfort with the standard Low-E/Low-E4® glass. This glass reflects heat in the summer and helps keep heat inside in the winter, making this a good choice in our area. SmartSunTM glass is a good choice and can help in getting your window to perform to the ratings needed with some of the applied grille options. This glass blocks 95% of the sun’s harmful UV rays which can be helpful if your customer is also concerned about fading furniture. It gives you the benefits of Low-E glass, plus it helps shield your home from the sun’s heat. HeatLock® is and interior coating that can be added to most of our glass options and reflects heat to the interior keeping it from escaping the home.
