Andersen storm combination units are a self-storing storm window that is combined with an insect screen in one handy unit. Applied to the outside of your Andersen double hung (and in no way limiting your ability to tilt and clean your window sash), Andersen Storm Combo units offer another layer of protection from the elements, which can be a critical need in our harsh environment on the Cape & Islands.
In addition to being an extra barrier to cold-air infiltration, (they actually increase your U Factor, which may help lower your heating bills during those cold winter months), they hold up and protect your windows from the harsh wind, snow, ice and sand that we so often experience in our seaside climate.
Andersen combo units fit easily into the existing screen track and give you the option of having two glass panels (one up and one down) or you can easily lift the lower glass panel to access the screen. They are made by Andersen, color matched perfectly to the exterior of your Andersen 400 Tiltwash Series (as well as gliding) windows and are even available for your older Narroline double hungs. Current available colors are White, Sandtone, Canvas, Dark Bronze, Black, Terratone, and Forest Green. What an affordable way to get the most performance out of an already high performing product and protect them at the very same time!
