Shortly after the COVID-19 pandemic forced businesses across the Cape to shut down in the spring, the Home Builders & Remodelers Association of Cape Cod partnered with Housing Assistance Corp. to launch a capital campaign in support of the corporation’s Workforce Housing Relief Fund.
The fund provides qualifying year-round households on Cape Cod and the Islands with rent or mortgage payments during the pandemic.
Within weeks of the partnership, $100,000 had been raised from over 50 companies within the building industry.
Inspired by the campaign, Shepley Wood Products partnered with Barnstable Brewing Co. to brew a beer called Civic Rent. A portion of the beer’s sales will go to support the fund.
