Starting April 7th, 2025, VELUX introduces exciting updates to its Skylight System.
All Deck and Curb Mount models will now come standard with a white room darkening solar shade at no additional cost.
For other skylight models, the white room darkening solar shade will still be available as an optional add-on, but now at a discounted list price of just $230-$260, down from the original $450.
Key Features of the New Solar Shade
- Slim-line design with a push-button on/off switch.
- Automatic activation after 2-3 hours of sunlight exposure.
- Improves energy efficiency by up to 45%, with a U-factor of 0.24 for fixed skylights and 0.27 for venting skylights.
- 30% solar tax credit available for skylights with solar shades (check with your tax advisor for eligibility).
