Composite Decking
Composite decking is the fastest growing wood deck alternative on the market. It boasts low maintenance and a much longer lifespan than wood decking and is known for its durability and versatility, in terms of colors and textures.
Wood Decking
Shepley offers a variety of wood decking options from the finest hardwood decking to pressure treated lumber. If economy and durability are what matter to you, pressure treated decking is the answer. On the Cape and Islands, our most popular decking is mahogany. For exceptional durability, customers choose IPE, one of the hardest woods on the market.

Ipe (pronounced EE‐pay). Shepley carries Pau Lope™ brand Ipe decking. It is considered the world’s finest hardwood decking for its high‐graded, defect‐restricted, low moisture content characteristics. It is prized for its stability, durability, resistance to decay, rot and insects. Its extreme density makes it difficult to cut and plane. Pre‐drilling is recommended when surface fastening to avoid checking.
Kayu® Batu™ is uniquely beautiful. It is a favorite wood deck species because of its reddish brown color, longevity, incredible durability and relatively low‐maintenance. Its dense cell structure serves as a natural deterrent to decay, insects and molds. Kayu Batu is Class A Flame Spread rated, 100% clear grade, kiln dried and always double inspected by Kayu exclusive graders. It stands up well to foot traffic and will endure the outdoors for many years.
Zuri’s proprietary manufacturing technology consists of a PVC substrate, wrapped in photo realistic print foil, with an acrylic top coat. No resealing, staining or painting required. It is scratch, fade, moisture, stain & slip resistant. Zuri really captures the beauty of wood, without the headaches!
If economy and longevity are what matters, PT is the answer. It wears well, is stainable or can be left untreated. The chemical treatment makes it resistant to rot and insect damage. All of Shepley’s PT stock is rated for Ground Contact. The #1 choice of deck materials, Shepley chooses to stock a #1 grade, Southern Yellow Pine pressure treated wood that is infused with the preservative “MCQ”, or Micronized Copper Quaternary. Long term field testing shows that pressure treated wood with MCQ provides effective protection against fungal decay and termite attack, so do it once and do it right by using Shepley’s pressure treated wood on your next project!
